margin: 0px !important;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.assoc-amazon.com\/e\/ir?t=rightonreplic-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=B004AFFPK6\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" \/><br \/>\n<a title=\"000 by dougcole2000, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/29474631@N04\/6472918907\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7173\/6472918907_d499d9f702.jpg\" alt=\"000\" width=\"500\" height=\"211\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p align=\"right\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">A SnapShot Review by Mike Krueger <a title=\"Mike Krueger Thumbnail by dougcole2000, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/29474631@N04\/6472949261\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7168\/6472949261_d8c827d836_t.jpg\" alt=\"Mike Krueger Thumbnail\" width=\"79\" height=\"100\" \/><\/a> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">The 2010 Ford Shelby GT500 was one of the best models that I have had a chance to build in the past few years.\u00c2\u00a0 After doing some investigation, I found that the Shelby was designed and had tooling made by Revell of Germany, which would be why the model is so nice.\u00c2\u00a0 Because of this, the kit coats around $55.00 to purchase.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Upon inspection of all the pieces, I found that every piece was extremely perfect and didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t need any scale removal.\u00c2\u00a0 The only items that had any mold lines on them, was the body and hood.\u00c2\u00a0 That was easily removed by using some 400 grit wet and dry sandpaper.\u00c2\u00a0 After removal of the mold lines, I recommend sealing the body and hood with a primer sealer.\u00c2\u00a0 On every one of the models I complete, I use primer because I use all automotive paint by PPG.\u00c2\u00a0 If you do this, you will have no problem with crazing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"001 by dougcole2000, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/29474631@N04\/6472918749\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7172\/6472918749_895e6d32f0.jpg\" alt=\"001\" width=\"500\" height=\"287\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\">001) -The rest of the Shelby went together without a problem.\u00c2\u00a0 I just followed the instructions step by step, which is pretty abnormal for me, but seeing as this was a kit I was building for a review, I made sure to follow the instructions to see if there were any problems with their instructions.\u00c2\u00a0 There were no problems except for the attachment of the air filter system.\u00c2\u00a0 I needed to remove the locating pin from the bottom of the air filter, and then it fit without any further complications.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">The instructions start out with motor assembly, then chassis, and then interior.\u00c2\u00a0 It probably took about six hours to assemble each step per the instructions.\u00c2\u00a0 I recommend assembling each step as a sub &#8211; assembly.\u00c2\u00a0 I found that this was the easiest method.\u00c2\u00a0 With everything I build, I assemble everything as a sub-assembly and detail each sub-assembly. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"002 by dougcole2000, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/29474631@N04\/6472918257\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7009\/6472918257_433147d488_o.jpg\" alt=\"002\" width=\"142\" height=\"130\" \/><\/a><span style=\"font-size: small;\">002) &#8211; My most favorite part of the whole kit was building and assembling the chassis, probably because the chassis is so detailed.\u00c2\u00a0 Because of this, it made it extremely fun to assembly and paint.\u00c2\u00a0 You will see this by the photo of the chassis.\u00c2\u00a0 I even added a touch of the sixties by painting the pumpkin on the rear end a rust color.\u00c2\u00a0 All rear end pumpkins in the sixties were painted this color.\u00c2\u00a0 I used a combination of Testors, Tamiya, and automotive paints to detail the chassis.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a title=\"003 by dougcole2000, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/29474631@N04\/6472918397\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7019\/6472918397_e159e53a6a.jpg\" alt=\"003\" width=\"500\" height=\"374\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\">003) &#8211; Assembly of the motor was pretty much the same as the chassis.\u00c2\u00a0 There is so much detail to work with, it unreal.\u00c2\u00a0 I assembled the whole motor except for the oil filter before I painted the motor assembly.\u00c2\u00a0 Again, the motor was so detailed that I could paint a lot of the bolt heads and added body paint colors to the valve covers.\u00c2\u00a0 I again used a combination of Testors, Tamiya, and automotive paints to detail the motor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a title=\"004 by dougcole2000, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/29474631@N04\/6472918501\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7018\/6472918501_7407d6c293.jpg\" alt=\"004\" width=\"500\" height=\"321\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\">004) &#8211; With the motor and chassis finished, I then turned my attention to the interior.\u00c2\u00a0 I pieced the interior together except the dashboard.\u00c2\u00a0 By gluing in the dash board last, it allows you to detail and add the decals with working around the seats.\u00c2\u00a0 I used Testors light gray interior <\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\">texture paint for the main interior pieces and blue texture paint for the seat and dashboard inserts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a title=\"005 by dougcole2000, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/29474631@N04\/6472918585\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7165\/6472918585_5bd08a3c72.jpg\" alt=\"005\" width=\"500\" height=\"376\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\">005) &#8211; My favorite part of every model kit I build was the next step.\u00c2\u00a0 Painting and detailing the body of the GT500 was extremely fun.\u00c2\u00a0 I used PPG Maui Blue for the main body color and used PPG Medium blue for the stripes.\u00c2\u00a0 I didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t like how all decal stripes, never quite do the job.\u00c2\u00a0 You always see through the white decals, so I taped out the stripes on the GT500 and painted them.\u00c2\u00a0 Always use 3M thin line tape when doing this process.\u00c2\u00a0 If you don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t, you will end up with thick edges along the tape edge.\u00c2\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a title=\"006 by dougcole2000, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/29474631@N04\/6472918985\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7145\/6472918985_3548bc998e.jpg\" alt=\"006\" width=\"500\" height=\"208\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\">006) &#8211;
