Well\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6needless to say, I got the hint. After taking the keys, I pulled onto the main road and waited at the first stoplight. Turning on the traction control and giving it a healthy bit of gas, the light turned and that car launched like nothing I had ever driven before! Wow! Not real bad, but it will add to your prep time (fig 1,2).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">After prepping the body, it got a light coat of PlastiKote primer, then my new favorite paint was applied, Testors One Coat lacquer. I was planning to paint it the same as the car I drove in \u00e2\u20ac\u212202 (white with orange stripes), but I couldn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t resist the Sunburst Orange color. The suspension seemed to be a little weak, but after installing everything, I was impressed with how strong it was. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"fig_6 by dougcole2000, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/29474631@N04\/7023802531\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm7.staticflickr.com\/6096\/7023802531_4543b959ec.jpg\" alt=\"fig_6\" width=\"500\" height=\"334\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\">Fig 06) &#8211; A little detail painting set everything off well. I was a little disappointed with the tires. The detail isn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t all that great and they looked a little small, but once the body was on they looked perfect. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"fig_7 by dougcole2000, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/29474631@N04\/7023802109\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7102\/7023802109_f7deb63c51.jpg\" alt=\"fig_7\" width=\"500\" height=\"334\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\">Fig 07) &#8211; The wheels were stripped of chrome and painted flat black then outlined with aluminum paint, then coated with Testor\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Gloss Coat There was a problem with the chassis, but I didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t know it yet. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"fig_8 by dougcole2000, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/29474631@N04\/7023802457\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7114\/7023802457_8e12f99d71.jpg\" alt=\"fig_8\" width=\"500\" height=\"334\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\">(Fig 8) &#8211; The engine is Chevrolet\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s famed LS1 V8, with 6 speed transmissions. When it is all put together the engine looks beautiful. It has found its way into a ton of other projects on model benches all over the world. There is a ton of detail, but unfortunately, everything gets painted semi gloss black or aluminum. Not that you have to paint it like the directions say to. The hard part is putting on the radiator hoses when the engine is installed, other than that it all lines up well.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"fig_10 by dougcole2000, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/29474631@N04\/7023802509\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm7.staticflickr.com\/6097\/7023802509_70dc63bf17.jpg\" alt=\"fig_10\" width=\"500\" height=\"334\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\">Fig 10) &#8211; The dash has some nice decals, but you will have to remove some of the radio and heater detail to use them. The window unit slides in as one unit, which is nice, because there is no need to glue. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"fig 15 by dougcole2000, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/29474631@N04\/7023802381\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7041\/7023802381_90717faac9.jpg\" alt=\"fig 15\" width=\"500\" height=\"334\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\">Fig 15) &#8211; With separate front and rear fascias, and rear wing, the proportions look spot on!\u00c2\u00a0 The front and rear fascias, and wing cannot be glued on before paint, so care has to be taken when attaching them. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<br \/>\n<a title=\"fig 17 by dougcole2000, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/29474631@N04\/7023802399\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7207\/7023802399_0bd3c2ec41.jpg\" alt=\"fig 17\" width=\"500\" height=\"334\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\">Fig 17) &#8211; The main issue I had was installing the headlight lenses; they fit well, but will take patience and some clear epoxy to get them in right.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<br \/>\n<a title=\"fig 18 by dougcole2000, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/29474631@N04\/6877700220\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm7.staticflickr.com\/6227\/6877700220_3c85465d02.jpg\" alt=\"fig 18\" width=\"500\" height=\"207\" \/><\/a><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Fig 18) &#8211; Remember I said I had a problem with the chassis? Well it seems the front of the chassis was warped down! I didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t notice until I tried mating it to the body<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"fig 19 by dougcole2000, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/29474631@N04\/7023802189\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm7.staticflickr.com\/6038\/7023802189_beff7a0203.jpg\" alt=\"fig 19\" width=\"500\" height=\"334\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\">Fig 19) &#8211; So I clamped the two together and applied a liberal amount of glue.
