The AMT\/Round 2 “Showroom Replicas” version of the 2012 Corvette convertible is a simple curbside kit, meaning there is no engine except for an engraved detail on the bottom of the chassis. However, the presence of a separate hood indicates a full-detail kit of this legendary sports car has either been produced or will be soon. Simple doesn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t mean plain however as this kit could easily be the centerpiece of your display case.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

For the Modeler:<\/strong> As far as the kit itself is concerned, it was a trouble-free build, as well as a nice, refreshing break from the more detailed kits I’m accustomed to reviewing. Contact points were sure and concise, and overall fit and finish were outstanding. This kit easily gets 9 1\/2 stars from me. I would highly recommend this kit for not only beginning modelers, but intermediate modelers as well. Advanced modelers could have some fun with it, or anticipate a fully-detailed glue kit to be released. The only complaint I have is that the exhaust tips, fog light bezels, and light units weren’t chrome-plated. The best thing about this kit is that you if you paint the body color parts and set them aside to dry you can build this fabulous looking model in about four hours. The kit contains white plastic parts, chrome wheels, and clear parts as well as soft rubber tires. Using foil to accentuate the taillights, trim details for the interior and headlight assemblies, detailing the exhaust bezels and overall finish are all fully examined in the Step-by-Step review.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
