In 1957 Ford remodeled their lineup of cars to include design changes and new safety measures. The 1957 models retained a single-headlight front end like their predecessors, but were unmistakable with their long flanks and tailfins. Plenty of trim lines were introduced including the Custom 300, a favorite for police and fire departments. The Custom line used a 116 inch wheelbase with a new frame design that moved the perimeter rails out, so that they would fully envelope the passengers. A supercharged 312 CID Thunderbird Special engine making 300 horsepower designated a “Police Interceptor” was used to power the cars and was connected to a 3 speed overdrive transmission. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

For the Modeler:<\/b> This is a Model King release of the Revell \u00e2\u20ac\u02dc57 Ford Custom Police Car kit #85-4081.\u00c2\u00a0 It is a 1:25 scale, Skill Level 3 kit with 129 parts molded in White, Chrome, Clear, Red, and Vinyl Tires. \u00c2\u00a0Crisply detailed parts on assembly specific sprue frames make most of the parts you will need for each sub-assembly easy to locate. A twelve page direction sheet book has easy to see nice sized exploded view images. And one of the highlights of the kit, the decal sheet, gives you standard decals, interior inserts and a huge selection of police or fire motif decals. As you can see, I chose the Fire Chief version but you can create either realistic units or your own fantasy department vehicle. The finished dimensions are; Length 8.0\u00e2\u20ac\u009d, Width 3.0\u00e2\u20ac\u009d, Height 2.375\u00e2\u20ac\u009d.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
