Ferrari has once again produced another technical achievement with its LaFerrari. LaFerrari (project name, F150) is a limited production hybrid supercar built by Ferrari. The Formula 1 influence is not only reflected in this super road-going sports car by its fantastic design, but also by its almost unbelievable performance. The two-seater is powered by 6.3 liter V12 engine producing 800 hp and augmented by two electric motors with a total of 163 hp using a hybrid technique that Ferrari has developed in Formula 1 racing. Its 12 cylinders are supplied with combustion air by 48 valves and together with the electric motors produce 700 Newton Meters of torque at a modest 6750 rpm. The amazing car reaches 125 mph in less than 7 seconds and 186 mph in just 15 seconds. It then goes further to well over 217 mph. The car and its name were officially unveiled at the 2013 Geneva Auto Show. Only 499 units will be built and each will cost more than $1.69 million. LaFerrari received no input from Pininfarina, making it the first Ferrari since the Bertone-styled 1973 Dino 308 GT4 not to have Pininfarina bodywork or other styling. This decision is a rare exception to the collaboration between Ferrari and Pininfarina that began in 1951.<\/p>\n

For the modeler:<\/strong> This review covers the LaFerrari kit from Revell. This is Kit #85-4332 and is 1\/24 scale. The kit consists of 141 parts molded in White, Chrome, Clear, Vinyl tires and Mesh Screen. Originally a Revell of Germany kit this has been released in \"000b\"<\/a> Revell USA packaging and is a New Release with Copyrights of 2014 on the chassis. One major difference of note is the US version is molded in White as the Germany version is molded in Red and Gray. Revell rates this as a Skill Level 3 for Advanced Builders. This kit looks a little scary when you first open it. The body is multiple parts and some interior panels are also the exterior panels on the back side. This build is detailed with many intricate parts. The motor is nicely detailed and looks great. The interior is a simple bucket but has tons of Decal details. The suspension is fairly simple and solid. This build has lots of details so take your time. The overall size is: Length: 7-11\/16″, Width: 3-5\/16″, Height: 1-3\/8″.<\/p>\n
