According to Revell, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153The Speedwagon was the collaboration between Artist\/Designer Thom Taylor and craftsman\/builder Dan Fink. It is a unique street rod, designed to showcase the wide variety of parts available from Ford’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) Catalogue Division. It started as a sketch on a piece of paper that then blossomed into a full size machine. While some parts were off the shelf, much of the Speed wagon was custom made by the team at D.F. Metalworks. The construction of the Speedwagon started with a set of reproduction frame rails, an original 3-window cowl section, steel fender and reproduction rubber running boards. The balance of the car was basically scratch built by Dan Fink’s experienced crew. But, like the most modern street rods, the Speedwagon has all the creature comforts such as power brakes, air conditioning, hidden wipers and tilt steering wheel\u00e2\u20ac\u009d.<\/p>\n

For the Modeler:<\/strong> This review covers the Dan Fink Speedwagon Re-release (Re-Pop) from Revell. It is 1\/25 scale and kit #4373 in the current catalog. Revell rates this as a Skill Level 3 for advanced builders and they are on par due to the suspension assembly and \"1\"<\/a> body painting. The kit comes in 111 parts molded in White, Chrome, Clear and Red Clear and comes with Vinyl tires. Assembly is straight forward with sub-assemblies and final assembly sequences. The motor is nicely detailed and with some basic wiring; looks really good. The chassis and suspension are a Hot Rod set-up and construction of the front suspension is a little touchy. The interior is overly basic. The body is a multiple part unit that requires painting in steps with different colors. It can be difficult to paint the body correctly if you are a beginner. The decals have the wood siding on them and look pretty good also. The instructions are typical of Revell\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s easy-to-follow book style. Overall dimensions are: Length: 5-5\/16″, Width: 2-3\/4″, Height: 2-3\/8″.<\/p>\n
