How to Build the 1979 Ford Pinto Pony Express 1:25 Scale MPC Model Kit #845 Review

Review and Photos for Right On Replicas, LLC by James Yeager
For the modeler: This review covers the re-release of the 1979 Ford Pinto Pony Express 1:25 Scale MPC Model Kit #845. The kit is a Skill Level 2 for intermediate builders and requires glue and paint. A few versions were released back in the 70’s and now Round 2 has re-issued the MPC version with its original box art. The build-up is straight-forward and assembly is nice with good fit and finish.  There are 138 pieces in this kit molded in silver, chrome, clear, clear red, soft black tires with water slide decals and well laid out instructions. As a bonus this kit comes with two complete engine assemblies – both an inline 1.2L four and a 351cid V-8. A mini model box is also part of the package. It is a modestly detailed kit and a nice build of a great subject matter. Overall dimensions are ~: Length: 7¼â€, Width: 3â…›â€, Height: 3½†not including the antennae or foils.

How to Build the 1961 Pontiac Ventura 1:25 Scale Moebius Model Kit #1211 Review

Review and Photos for Right On Replicas, LLC by Alan Mann
For the modeler: This review covers the new tool release of the 1961 Pontiac Ventura 1:25 Scale Moebius Model Kit #1211. The kit is a Skill Level 3 for ages 15 and up and requires glue and paint. It is Kit #1211 in the current catalog. The build-up is straight-forward and assembly is nice with almost perfect fit and finish. The only issue you will find is a
major one and quite detrimental. Moebius has been getting a lot of credit lately on how to build model kits that builders have been clamoring for and their subject matter automotive issues have been stellar. On the other hand, they still have some growing pains to go through and this kit shows that they’re not perfect either. Quite “Frankly†I can’t believe that the design engineers and test builders could have missed the major gaffe in this kit. The grille will NOT fit with the radiator/wall in place. If I can be “Frank†don’t buy this kit unless you can live with a major portion of the engine bay missing or leave the grill on the curb. Outside of that, this is a highly detailed kit and a nice build. Overall dimensions are: Length: 8-1/2â€, Width: 3â€, Height: 2-1/2â€.

How to Build the Squad Rod Nova 1:25 Scale AMT Model Kit #851 Review
Review and Photos for Right On Replicas, LLC by Alan Mann
For the modeler: This review covers the re-released Squad Rod Nova 1:25 Scale AMT Model Kit #851 that has not been seen since the 80’s. This was originally MPC kit #1-0744 now in RETRO DELUXE boxing and under the MPC line as Kit #MPC851. This is a 1/25 scale kit rated as a Skill Level 2 for the moderate builder. This kit started life as an Annual Stock Nova, it then became the “Breakout†kit
which gave it the hot rod parts, next came the police parts to create the Squad Rod kit. In the box you will get almost 125 parts molded in Black, Chrome, Clear, Clear Blue and Clear Red. There are Vinyl tires a metal axle and Waterslide decals. The instructions are typical fold out sheet from AMT/MPC. Detail is all over the board on this one. The motor has nice detail, you get Stock or Street options. The interior has shallow details and is poor. But the police options are nice. The chassis is very simplistic. The body has very crisp and clean moldings and the details on the body were good with only minor mold lines. Overall fit and finish was good. Dimensions are: Length: 8â€, Width: 2-3/4â€, Height:2-3/4â€.
