Imagine you’re back in the late 1940’s and early 1950’s. World War II is becoming a distant memory, and the scuffle in Korea has a little ways to go before they sign a truce. America has resumed a normal daily life and prosperity abounds.   We ended WWII by using Atomic weapons on Japan to force them to surrender. Most of humanity saw the destructive force of those weapons and most had hoped that they would never be needed again. Suddenly, one of our former Allies in WWII is setting their sights on us. The USSR has developed their own nuclear weapons, and is amassing thousands of them. The United States determined that it had no choice but to follow suit, arming itself with thousands of nuclear weapons to match the Soviet Union. Both sides were now poised to see who was king of the hill. The Cold War had begun!
For the Modeler: This is a Special Subjects Program (SSP) 1:32 scale reissue of the Renwal Blueprint Model by 
Revell, skill level 3, 60th Anniversary Edition of The Atomic Cannon Scale Model Kit #85-7818. This kit includes 300+ pieces molded in grey plastic with a seven member crew, instructions, and waterslide decals. This kit features a positional canon and articulating front and rear cabs. Please note that this kit has also been issued under kit #85-7811 which was retained on the box and instructions. Finished overall dimensions are: Length: 33″, Width: 4″, Height: 5″. With the gun in firing position the height is 14″.
