What was “often been referred to as the “Gentlemen’s Motorcycle” was a very sophisticated motorcycle” is how Revell describes this motorcycle.  The engine was a twin engine that had horizontally opposed cylinders. This engine really screamed out as an attention grabber with this design. This motorcycle used a driveshaft instead of a chain or belt to rotate the rear tire.

For the Modeler: This is the Revell kit H1552, BMW R 75/5 Wunderbike that is 1:8 scale, and a Skill Level 2 for the intermediate builder. It has been out of production for some time but can still be found at online auction sites and garage sales. The pieces are molded in; blue, chrome, black vinyl tubing, rubber tires, and clear with waterslide decals. The finished dimensions are; 10” L X 3 ¾” W X 5” H.

Covered in this Review:  If you want to perfect your build; basic construction; decal preparation and application; removing plating notes for adhesion; the importance of test fitting; handling fragile parts; engine construction notes; frame and suspension construction and detailing; altered assembly sequences for ease of construction; adhesive selection and applications; paint selections; routing the cables and tubes; organizing the part groups; dealing with injector pin flash; wheel assembly; instruction errors are discussed,  are all fully examined in this pictorial 16 page, full-color Step-by-Step review in PDF format.
