The Mini Cooper came out in 1959 and was a four time Monte Carlo Rally winner. The Mini was designed by John Cooper (a famous race car maker) and was a very popular car in several countries with several different model versions. The Mini Cooper was also featured in Movies such as; The Italian Job both the 1969 and 2003 version.

For the Modeler: This is the Revell California Wheels Series Original Mini Cooper in 1/24 scale. It is a skill level 2 model. This kit (#85-4035) contains 128 pieces, is molded in white, chrome, and clear parts, and has soft black vinyl tires. It also includes illustrated directions and waterslide decals. Finished dimensions are: Length: 5″, Width: 2 ¼”, Height: 2 â…›” This kit features an opening hood with accurately detailed 61 cid engine. For some law enforcement agencies in the U.S., load and passenger capacity are more important than speed. The Ford Expedition Special Service Vehicle (SSV) is perfect for those agencies. Its reliability, towing capacity, and passenger capacity are especially useful to the Border Patrol.

For the Modeler: This is the SnapTite Ford Expedition Police SSV 1-25 Scale Revell Model Kit #85-1972 Review. It is a skill level 1 model – no glue required. This kit (#85-1972) contains 46 pieces, is molded in black plastic with chrome, clear and transparent red and smoke tinted parts, and has soft black vinyl tires. It also includes illustrated directions and a colorful sticker set. Finished dimensions are: Length: 8-1/4″, Width: 3-1/2″  and Height: 3-1/4″. I was a little hesitant about reviewing this model, because I really wasn’t expecting much. Generally 1/25 scale snapper kits tend to be low quality and toy like, with not much to offer. I was pretty surprised with the quality and extras that Revell included.  While not my usual type of kit, It looked like a quick, fun build. This kit features an easy to assemble screw on chassis, a painted roof light bar, interior security screens and storage compartments.
