How to Build the Kenworth K-100 1-25 Scale Revell Model Kit #85-2513 Review

Review and Photos for Right On Replicas, LLC by Alan Mann
For the modeler: This review covers the re-release of the Kenworth K-100 by Revel in 1/25 scale. This is kit number 85-2513 in the current catalog and is available in most hobby shops and online stores. Revel rates this as a Skill level 5 for the more advanced builder and this kit requires glue and paint. As for the kit itself you will get 284 parts molded in
White, Chrome, and Clear and with Vinyl tires. The decals are Waterslide and you get the typical book format instruction sheet. Build up is done in steps and is fairly simple with the full frame being assembled, the motor and interior. The body is built and attached to the mostly completed chassis. Fit and finish on this kit is great for the age of the molds although some parts placement is iffy in the instructions. And as a side note, this is the truck style used in the Original Cartoon Version of TRANSFORMERS for Optimus Prime. Overall dimensions: Length: 10-5/8″, Width: 4-3/16″, Height: 6-1/4″.

How to Build the Tony Nancy 22 Jr Roadster/Dragster 1:25 Scale Revell Model Kit #85-1224 Review

Review and Photos for Right On Replicas, LLC by Doug Bartley
“Tony Nancy Top Eliminator†“Nancy, Best Engineered And Competition Eliminator At Internationalsâ€!     Headlines like these are well-known to Tony Nancy, one of America’s top drag racers and upholsterers, from Sherman Oaks, California. In the past 17 years, Tony Nancy has built and raced twenty-seven cars, five of which have borne the designation “22Jr.†All of these cars have provided racing at its vest or the thousands of spectators near and far who have seen Nancy pilot his sleek machines down the strip in record time. Two of Tony’s most popular cars are his “22Jr†Buick-powered Roadster and his “22Jr†Plymouth Super Stock-powered Dragster. Both of these cars have been featured on the cover of “Hot Rod†magazine, and both have won national drag racing awards.
Nancy’s `23 â€T†Roadster won the Competition Eliminator Award at the 1963 Winternationals with a top speed of 16483 MPH, in addition to taking the class award. His Plymouth Super Stock-powered “AA†Dragster has held the National AA Dragster class record, and also the Drag News number one gas dragster position. This machine, even without a complete body shell, was honored with the title, “Best Engineered Car†at the `63 Winternationals. Number one in performance and number one in appearance go hand-in-hand with these two top cars by Tony Nancy.
For the modeler: This review covers the re-release of the Tony Nancy 22 Jr. dual car kit in 1:25 Scale as  Revell Model Kit #85-1224 that was originally issued in 1963. There isn’t a skill level given on the kit but I considered it an intermediate to advanced
builder kit, although the box states it is an easy builder. In comparison to today’s kits it can be a little challenging to build, but patience and test fitting continually will create a very clean and nice model. Both kits consist of 80+ parts molded in Silver and Clear with Chrome Parted parts and Black Vinyl Tires. There is some flashing and mold marks that need to be removed before assembly. The JR22 Dragster model has a Tommy Ivo chassis and a 426 Plymouth Super Stock V-8 that can be seen since the body shell if you follow the instructions and not glue the body halves together, although on this build they were glued together in the end (just my preference). The second kit is of JR22 `23 `T` Roadster model and it has a Kent Fuller chassis, Cal Automotive body and a Blown Buick V-8. Both kits come with period correct water slide decals.

Review and Photos for Right On Replicas, LLC by Alan Mann

For the modeler: This review covers the 1995 release of the Tamiya Toyota Supra car sponsored by Castrol and Tom’s. This was an all-new tooling for 1995 and is still available in the Tamiya catalog under Kit #24163. This is 1/24 scale and while there is no
Skill Level Tamiya recommends ages 10 and over. You get close to 80 parts molded in White, Clear and Chrome. There are Rubber tires, Screen and Vinyl Tubes. The kit is a Curbside as it does not have a motor. There is a full chassis and detailed suspension. The interior is complete and fully detailed. The body has all the markings in waterslide decals and the body is a one piece unit. Overall construction is straightforward and fit and finish is tight. The Tamiya instructions include direct callouts to the paint colors for Tamiya brand paints. Overall dimensions are: Length:7½â€,Width: 3-1/16â€, Height: 2¼â€.
