When GM® issued orders against involvement in auto racing, they sharply undercut their Pontiac line’s market. Fortunately for the muscle car world, Pontiac worked around these restrictions and developed the GTO. Royal Pontiac in Michigan sold hop-up packages that turned GTOs into speed demons capable of going zero to 60 in 4.6 seconds. The Royals were icons of the drag strip, and the mysterious tiger-suited driver of the GeeTO was the most famous of all.
For the Modeler: This is a reissue of the Revell Motor Sports Series Royal ’66 Pontiac GTO kit. It is a 1:25 scale, skill level 2 kit for ages 10 and up. It has 114 parts and is molded in white, transparent red and clear. This kit features a pre-painted Gee-T-O Tiger figure, detailed engine and racing decals. Finished dimensions are Length: 8-1/4″, Width: 3″, Height: 2-1/4.”
Covered in this Review: If you want to perfect your build; basic construction; preparing parts for better finishing; adhesive selections and applications; altered assembly sequence suggestions; seam, pin mark and flash identification and repairs; paint selection and applications; repairing flash; using black wash for detailing; decal application; using foil to highlight accents and trim; detailing the interior and dash with foil and wood tones; addressing warped parts for fit; the importance of test fitting; are all fully examined in this Step-by-Step review.

This bike was one of many that Harley offered throughout the years that everyone would love to own. Classic color selections and a smooth ride while retaining that Harley profile made it a favorite for many.
For the Modeler: Even though this kit is long out of production they can still easily be found at online auction sites and garage sales. This is a 1:8 scale skill level 2 Revell SnapTite Kit #7303. This is a replica of a motorcycle most people knew and fell in love with; a Harley Davidson Springer Softail. Revell did an outstanding job on replicating every detail of the motorcycle into this model kit. This kit was molded in red, black, grey, chrome, clear, clear red and clear amber. The tires and spark plug wires are made from rubber to add a more realistic look to the kit. The finished model’s dimensions are 11 ½†long, 6 1/16†high and 4 3/8†wide.
