This review covers Funnier Farmer 1963 tempest AWB 1:25 Scale AMT Model King Kit #21452P.  This is a skill level 2 for ages 10 & UP in 1:25th SCALE.  Most people think this kit is a replica of the Arnie Beswick “Tameless Tiger”, and while there are a lot of similarities (and it’s a good starting point for a replica) there are enough differences to indicate that this kit has its own identity.  Back in the ’60’s when this kit was first issued, AMT did a series of “art” boxes that featured no graphics on the box tops, just art work.  This kit was one of those generic style Altered Wheel Base cars that was typical of the period but not based on a specific car.  Model King released this version of the AMT ’63 altered wheel base Pontiac Tempest kit in 2004 to bring back the idea and update it as a sort of tribute to the original kit. In the box you get 86 parts molded in White, Chrome, Clear and Clear Red.  There are Waterslide decals and a 2 sided sheet instructions sheet.  While a more basic kit from the 60s it is quite nice looking when completed and leaves room for extra details.

How to Build the 1969 Camaro SS 427 L-72 (Baldwin Motion) 1:25 Scale Revell Model Kit #85-2061

For the Modeler: This review covers the Streetburner Series 2007 Re-Release of Revell CAMARO SS 427 L-72 (Baldwin Motion version) 1:25 Scale Revell Model Kit #85-2061.  Revell has released the ‘69 Camaro in numerous versions over the years. In fact this chassis has a 1997 Copyright on it. This Kit is still available on the secondary market. This kit carries the old Skill Level ratings of Skill Level 2 for ages 10 and over.   It contains 113 parts molded in White, Chrome, Clear and Clear Red and has Vinyl tires and Waterslide decals. The decals do not include any interior details, just exterior stripes. The instructions are typical book format from Revell. The buildup starts with the motor, which is a nicely detailed 427. The chassis is basic but well detailed and looks good when finished. The interior is a tub format but the door panels are inserts that are well detailed and the dash has lots of detail also. The body is straight with no major mold line issues. Assembly is straightforward. Overall dimensions are: Length: 7-7/16″, Width: 2-13/16″,Height: 2-1/16″.

How to Build the Corvette C7.R 1:25 Scale Revell Model Kit #85-4304 Review

The Corvette C7.R is a Pratt & Miller design that was designed for endurance racing. The Corvette has won its class during 2015 24 Hours of Le Mans. The Corvette R has won 6 times making waves in other places in the automotive racing world. The Corvette C7.R had a 5.5 liter 16 valve V8 engine that produces 491 horsepower. It has a 6 speed x-trac semi-automatic gear box with paddle shifting on the steering wheel. The Corvette C7.R is a true racing machine; it resembles the street Corvette in looks only.  Everywhere else, the C7.R has been modified from the stock version.

 

For the Modeler: This review covers the Motor Sports Series new tooling release of Revell Corvette C7.R 1:25 Scale Model Kit #85-4304. This kit is rated a Skill Level 4 model for ages 12 plus.  The build consists of 64 parts molded in White, clear, clear red, metal axles, soft black tires with waterslide decals. You get a superbly detailed race car body with a racing chassis, safety roll cage and separate, but simplified, motor. This is a specific vehicle special subject kit and an historically accurate rendering of the 2015 C7.R.  Final dimensions are approximately; Length: 7”, Width: 3½”, Height: 2”.
