For the modeler:  This review covers the AMT/ERTL model of the Robot from the Lost in Space movie. This kit is dated 1998 and is an original molding.  No scale is noted on the kit. It was Kit # 8458 in their catalog and can still be found online and in some private owned Hobby Shops.  The kit is listed as a Skill Level 2 and requires Glue and Paint.  The kit can be 1 a small challenge as it does have fully articulating arms and torso so some extra skill and time is needed in assembly and prep to make it work properly.   You get almost 70 parts molded in DARK Blue, Light Grey and Clear.  The instructions are foldout and will aid in construction.  The decals are Waterslide and after 20 years still were in perfect condition to use as-is without any fixative.  Assembly starts with the base tracks and builds up with the arms and torso. It finishes with assembling the whole torso into one part finishing the build.  All decals can be added at the end.  Paint callouts are on each part and colors are basic with only about 4 colors used, Metallic Blue, Silver, Red and Flat Black.  Overall dimensions are roughly (depending on how you pose him): Wide: 9”, Deep: 10”, Tall: 10-1/2”.

In the 40’s and 50’s, small British imports were very unpopular with the American car buyers. It wasn’t long before the used car market turned these cars into cheap and easily affordable models making them perfect for Drag Racers to convert them into lightweight drag racing cars. Since these cars only had a 90-inch wheel base they could not have large engines however small block V-8’s could be used. A new Gasser racing class was born and over 2,400 Anglia Coupes were being raced in the 70’s.

For the modeler: This review covers the 1951 Anglia Drag Coupe 1:25 Scale Revell Model Kit #85-1269. It is rated a Skill Level 5 for the advanced builder. There are 119 pieces molded in white, chrome, clear styrene sheet, black vinyl tires with water-slide decals and very well laid out instructions. 000b During my research I found five other releases of this kit, two of those releases were under the Skippers Critter logo (1970 H1281 original and 2010 kit number 2035) then released as a Lightning Rod 7106 (1985), Skips Fiesta Series 7150 (1989) and Anglia Street Rod 4169 (1999). The finished dimensions are; L-6¾”, X W-2¾”, X H-2¾”.

For the Modeler:  This review covers the old release of the Polar Lights kit from 1998 under the Playing Mantis Company moniker. The kit was originally an Aurora Model and was re-released by Polar Lights. The kit has no scale to speak of and no Skill Level was noted either. It was Kit #5032 in their catalog at the time and can still be found online and in some shops 1 still. It was a simplistic kit made to represent a scene in the show of the One-eyed Monster throwing a boulder at the family and the Chariot vehicle from a rock. This is a small diorama depicting the Robinson crew of five people, the Chariot and the Monster on a rock platform. Detail is very basic and simple. You get about 50 pieces molded in White plastic and a small decal sheet of green tone “windows” for the chariot.  This kit is assembled in modules; the monster, the family, the chariot, and the rocks and then assembled into one unit at the end.  Parting lines and flash are heavy on the kit and it requires clean-up and putty for a good assembly. Still, it’s a great subject matter kit from a bygone era in TV entertainment.  Overall dimensions are: Wide: 8-1/2”, Deep: 7”, Tall: 11”.
