This popular Street Burner™ model was previously released three other times by Revell®. The original Chevelle™ was produced starting with 1964 model year. It was GM’s® answer to the Ford® Fairlane. The 1967 Chevelle™ was the last year of the big body. With this model you can bring back a part of the muscle car era in your own way! The ’67 SS396 is a rare version of this car because a little over 600 were ever made. If you find one in a barn – buy it!

For the modeler – This is a nice, clean build and an accurate representation of some real muscle. There are some issues to avoid during the build which are examined in the full review along with some modeling tips for easier assembly. According to Revell® this skill level 2 kit features 113 pieces with an opening hood with a detailed 396 cu. in. V-8 engine, a choice of a stock or lowered suspension, optional stock rally wheels or large-diameter custom wheels with disc brake detail, soft black tires, chrome-plated parts and decals with stock and custom graphics.

Tom Daniel made dozens of show car designs for Monogram over the years and the T’rantula dragster is one of the very best. Featuring jaw dropping styling this rail brings the deadly spider to mind with a red “pincher” up front and eerie looking compound eye stocks. If you like the Tom Daniels cars, you’ll love this one too!

For the modeler – this was a great kit. The pieces fit well for the most part, but a little tweaking is always needed. There is lots of room for detailing. There are tips in the full review to help avoid some pitfalls and some special paint finishing tips. There is also a link to the Revell parts replacement web page to help if you are missing parts from your kit.  Some alterations were done in this build but this was only because of the builder’s choice. This is a level 2 kit and that is accurate. It’s a great build for a younger modeler or a new modeler.

The M48A2 was just 1 of the many variants of the M48 medium battle tank. The A2 model was fielded in 1955 (too late for Korea) and was the first version to have a redesigned hull and ONLY 3 track support rollers per side. It is also the first version to feature the rear doors/ exhaust panels. The M48A2 featured a 12 cylinder, 810 hp gasoline engine all later versions were diesel powered. The M48 series tank was widely used in Viet Nam by both Army and Marine Corps units. It also served (and still does) in many countries around the world.

With the advent of the M60 medium battle tank in 1965, the M48 was slowly replaced in American Army units with some units using M48A5 tanks until the mid 1990’s. Also the M48 chassis was widely used for specialty vehicles like the Armored Vehicle Launcher Bridge (AVLB) and the Combat Engineer Vehicle (CEV) for many years.

For the modeler – this kit contains: 152 pieces molded in Olive Drab, full rubber tracks, 2 crew members, 6 infantry soldiers, painting instructions and decals for U. S & Israeli army versions. This 1:35 scale model is rated a skill level two which is just about right due to the number of pieces. The construction is not too difficult and with some weathering and finishing techniques it makes a great display piece with sufficient detail at a very reasonable price.
